Default World's Best Fruit Cake

(JMO, but try it, you'll like it)
1 1/2 cups butter
2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
6 eggs
1/2 cup cold coffee
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cloves
1# currants
1/2# candied pineapple
1/2# dates
1# raisins
1# walnuts
1/4 cup grape juice
1/2 cup molasses
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2# candied cherries

Use ten small loaf pans(you can find these in the store, they're aluminum) Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to one hour. Wrap in brandy soaked cheese cloth. Then wrap in saran and in foil and store in the refrigerator for up to one month. Personally, I'd be very surprised if they lasted that long.

Thanks, Gregg

That sounds very good. It's a bit late for this year but I copied it for next year. Hopefully I will be able to find it again then.

Thumbs up You are correct, it is a little late

but I like it so much that right after Christmas, I am going out to get the stuff to make it. I have not been able to eat it recently, due to my kidney failure, and it had been a couple of years since I had eaten it before that. It seems like I always think of it after it's too late in the season. The heck with it--I have something to celebrate this year, so I'll make it anyway.

Too late for fruit cake....nonsense!! Fruitcake is great anytime of the year.

I am going to try it, although a smaller batch. Thanks for the recipe Gregg, hope things are well with you.

Default What I like about it is that it contains

real fruit. Some of the stuff you buy or other people make just does not measure up. I really don't like the real gummy stuff that used to be in it.

It is citron that I dislike in other fruitcakes. Thank goodness this recipe replaces it with some real goodies!
