Default Smoker's (BBQ)

Hi all, I have a great love for GOOD Bar-B-Que. I have a fail safe Rub I use on almost everything (Ribs, Pork shoulder, Chicken and Veggies in the oven). I make a reasonably large batch but you can reduce by 1/2 or 1/4 if you don't want this much.

2 Cups sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup salt
2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder

My rib recipe:
Ribs your choice (baby back, St. Louis, Spares)
Remove membrane on back side of ribs with paper towel
Apply as much rub as you want on both sides of ribs
Put in smoker at 225 degrees for 3 hours spritz with Apple juice every hour
after 3 hours place ribs in HEAVY DUTY aluminum foil spritz with juice and rap up ribs completely and cook 1 more hour.
Remove ribs and ENJOY!
This recipe won many contest

Would love to hear your methods and rubs

While I "barbeque" on a gas grill as often as possible, it's not barbeque as you describe or think of it. Southern barbeque is to die for. Mine is for survival purposes! I use Stubbs

I don't do most Dendros or large, "floofy orchids". For me it's minis (like Angraecoides), Paphs, and others that crept in somewhere along the line. See my orchid list for complete collection (usually not current.)

Survival purposes?
Do you keep a small jar in your First-Aid Kit?

What I mean is, I cook to eat. My measure of success isn't the flavor of fine southern BBQ, it's done meat I love eating good barbeque and have had my share of fine southern cooked chicken and such (my brother-in-law is a native born Floridian "cracker" who has secret recipes, and such.)

Your 100% right Ross, You are grilling BBQ is the use of wood. But I also use this rub in the oven. (line pan with foil) I get Chicken Drumette's sprikle with rub and bake at 350 of around a hour (depends on size of wings) and I take a medium onion, remove paper and cut crossways rap up in foil and sprinkle with rub bake 30 to 45 mins with chicken. Easy pesy and delicious.
