What kind of media was in the basket to start with?
The plant is over ten years old. I started this from a seedling in a 2-inch clay pot and just let it grow out to a 3-inch and then 4-inch clay pot before transferring it to a wood basket. I believe it has been in the wood basket for about 5 years. The media is New Zealand sphagnum moss which has never been changed. I just added more moss as the plant progressed from the 2-inch pot.

Found this photo in my files. The plant looked like this in 2009. It was slightly smaller--about 20 inches across.
