I like the ovalis the best, and the all green one is also cute.

Thanks everyone!

It's nice to see some real Coelogyne love out there I'll be sure to keep you updated on the C.xyrekes, it's going to be beautiful!

And I think my C. trinervis has decided to join the show, but it's a bit too early to tell

Very nice beginning of collection ;-)
You should look for a C. taroensis , I am sure you will love it!
Popow had some recently, as well as Elsner Orchideen (you probably know these sellers as you are in Belgium?). I got some from them and they are nice plants, not bloomed yet though ...

Ohhhhhh yes I saw that C. taronensis on Popow's website indeed! I had made several new Coelogyne aquisitions back then and I chose to wait a bit...but it's definitely itching, especially that it's not pricey at all considering I rarely see the plant even mentioned!

So you actually got one of theirs or just different plants? If you do, were they well wrapped, are they holding out all right?

I will try to hold on until at least March let's say, but I kept my eye on that one for sure!

I got one plant from Popow ebay auction, and another plant from Elsner (I emailed them directly because they do not list the species on their online catalogue, and they had some).
Both plants are nice (6 to 10 pseudobulbs, from which 2 to 3 are new), the one from Popow was potted, the other mounted. Shipping (to France) was great in both cases.

Right now the plants are not doing much, winter rest I assume, and I keep them on a north facing windowsill slightly opened. This species grows at very high altitude so I try to give it a cold winter...

Oh it sounds like you ordered more than one of them? Planning on propagating?

All of a sudden, I'm hesitating though. I forgot to check the climate and it seems like they are cold growers.
I don't really have the opportunity to give my plants different culture conditions, so I'm afraid I'd cook my plant inside the greenhouse. All I can give them really is intermediate (to warm) conditions.

That's why I never went for C. nitida (syn. C. ochracea), as it was a cold grower as well.

What temperatures do you keep it at?

I got two plants so I have a back up ;-p
They are currently in my kitchen with temperatures between 15 at night and 22 day.
They will get warmer temps after the winter.

Cold growing Coelogyne still love hot temperatures in growing season, and in the winter they just do fine on a windowsill with the window a bit opened, and less watering with no fertilizer.
