Default Coelogyne mossiae

Despite the weather (it's amazingly cold here!) mossiae blooms! The flowers remember cristata, but the plant is completely different (it's larger and has conic pbulbs).

Rick,
Just now is 11°C (52ºF), at night it will drop to 5ºC (41ºF). For us it's VERY cold! São Paulo is only ~800m above sea level, in cities near here in higher altitudes (~2000m) the temp dropped bellow 0ºC (32ºF)

Jeeze! We are in the middle of Summer here an our nights are 54-56º with highs 95 -105ºF Is this an unusually cold winter for you guys? We had a bad cold spell this last winter. Cool blooms, it does not seem to mind the cold very much, a blooming plant is a happy plant!

Great photos Frederico! I seem to recall my cristata (before I killed it) bloomed in winter, so that type must like the cool winetr temsp to initiate flowers.

If Sao Paulo is that cold, how cold is Buenos Aires? (I visited there 2 years ago and it seemed fairly tropical)

Todd,
weather.com says min 37ºF max 54ºF today, but they are at sea level, in the summer it's very hot there!

It makes me wonder if he could grow C. cristata. Mine blooms faithfully with winter nights (In greenhouse of course) at 55f
