Bletilla striata 'Alba'
I got this one last April from Botanus, a bulb company in British Columbia. I was surprised it bloomed the first year. The two flowers are rather congested but I'm sure that will correct itself next year.

wow, I love the pristine white, and the bloom looks very round...Now I want one too since I only have the pink/purples. I want to see a Bletilla in the calendar 2008 but I didn't submit mine for it.
How readily do these send new growths? Should I expect to see new growths on mine now, or next year after dormancy?

Todd, that is a beauty, my Bletilla striata 'Aurea' turned out to be a regular Bletilla striata.

Fren, you won't see new growths until after its dormancy. Essentially treat it like a typical garden perennial. Keep it green and growing until it naturally starts to yellow-off in fall. Then I withhold water (not completely but significantly) and keep it cool all winter (5-10 C) then repot and resume watering in March.
