I always think new growth is better than no growth at all except if you have a plant that grows and grows for more than a year or two but never blooms

I agree, new growths are very important and they will soon support the future spikes

Default Finally flowers

Thought I'd do an uopdate of this. Now we know what a flower spike looks like, not at all similar to a bulk growth.

Now we have 4 flowers on a single spike, guess if we are happy

Being able to get it to flower first year is luck,,,,,and possibly some good care too.

The spike looks a lot like a rattlesnake rattle.
