Absolutely stunning. Pristine is definitely the word to use when describing this orchid.


I'd love to grow this one and cristata, but I think my growing conditions are too warm for their liking. They'd probably languish in the heat.

Could you posta picture of where the flower spike is coming from. I have one of these and has two new growths coming from it. Just wondering when and where i should expect the blooms. Thank you Gena!

Coelogyne mooreana has synanthous or proteranthous inflorescence.
Proteranthous inflorescence develops on the top of a new shoot of which the leaf or leaves are not yet developed. At that moment the base of the shoot is covered with scales.
Synanthous inflorescence develops on the top of a new shoot of which leaf or leaves are developing. At this stage, scales from which young leaf or leaves are protruding to a varying extent, cover the base of the shoot.
