Default Bufordiense culture Q

So Ive recently jumped into the Coelogyne alliance lately and have a pandurata and Bufordiense cutting that I got from a friend here in town. The pandurata is kicking butt and taking names (ie. new growth), is planted in spag with small pot (3 inches probably) that has holes cut into it and plenty of breeze. It is sending out a new growth and gets moderately bright light (low Catt light). My Q is actually about the Bufordiense. It is potted in a big pot (6 or 8 inches probably) with 2 inch pots on the bottom for aeration and large bark for media. I had it in very bright light for a while but it didnt do well so I put it with my Phals and now has two growths. Since it is now putting out new growth and probably new roots, Im wondering if I can slowly introduce the Bufordiense into brighter conditions. I see a lot of conflicting info on light levels and am wondering what my fellow OBers feel about bright vs. shadier light for this primary hybrid. Any comment on the media would be very welcome as well. Thanks!!!
