Where to buy Coelogynes Male

So. I really like Coelogynes (I really like all orchids, but today I really like Coelogynes), I have always really liked Coelogynes and I want to grow Coelogynes. The more I look at Coelogynes the more I like them and want to grow them. Anyhow, instead of showing any sort of impulse control and responsibility, I am instead going to push myself farther down the expensive money-eating well of buying more and more orchids to fuel my addiction and satisfy my need for instant gratification. To make a long story short, I would like to purchase some Coelogynes (preferably species, but hybrids are nice too) at some point in the near future despite the fact that they may not thrive particularly well in my slightly-less-than-perfect setup. Does anyone here happen to know where I might acquire some Coelogynes of decent quality (and in an ideal situation mature, blooming-size ones to boot) for a reasonable price?
Thank you

I just ordered Unchained Melody from Cal-Orchid. They were sold out of others. I believe I have also seen them in Hausermans.

Orchids For The People sells them. Also, a friend of a friend works there and apparently they have a lot of stuff that isn’t listed on their website, so it doesn’t hurt to ask.

I have gotten some nice ones from Hanging Gardens (Coel. nitida is in bloom now) Website is clearly not set up for e-commerce, but an email to Dan Newman may get you some results. (While he has some hybrids, it's mostly a species operation). And of course, Andy's Orchids... if you don't see what you want, inquire, probably no more than 10-15% of the species that they have are on the website.

Since Coelogynes come from a variety of elevations, just pick one (or more than one ) that fits your conditions... there are lots to choose from.

eBay. I got one of mine from “let’s talk plants”.

The other I got at a show

I'd ask about any compact Coelogynes these various vendors offer, since some hybrids/species have a rambling growth habit that becomes hard to manage. I was browsing through Roberta's "What's blooming for Southern California Species hobbyists" and came across C. cristata var. grandiflora and C. mossiae 'Mendenhall.' Of course, you might not be able to find these exact plants, but the compact/"mini" ones are definitely out there.

For indoor/terrarium growing, I'd suggest leaning toward the warmer growers. Coel. xyrekes is a miniature plant with a flower about the same size as the plant (alas, I lost mine, but it was before I started using RO water... I might well try again, it is very cute.) And Coel. monilirachis is also a fairly small plant, with the delightful habit of sequential blooming on a lot of spikes.

Those species that grow well outside in my area might be a challenge where indoor growing is the order of the day for much of the year. It's that old problem of matching one's conditions to the needs of the plant... one size doesn't fit all.

Well, I checked out the places you all suggested, and ended up getting distracted and ordering some Dendrochilums instead! I guess the Coelogynes will have to wait a little longer.

Thank you all so much for the help!

Afid- I was just poking around on Orchid Trail's (NC) website. http://https://www.orchidtrail.com/

I have never purchased from them before but they have an impressive plant list and it includes several species Coelogynes.

It seems this vendor has gone out of business and has sold off their greenhouses. Too bad.
