Now we can be 100% sure there are some blooms inside the sheaths.

Oh yes! Maybe another month or 6 weeks. Can you hear that orchid laughing?

In fact I was surprised about how well this orchid established. On month after I get it, one year ago, it started right away growing roots, after repoting.
Now it's blooming.

This is the alba variety but two weeks ago they had for sale the most common one, with red flowers. Maybe I'll get one.

I'm growing it with my almost new (Oct. 2019) Laelia kutskiana. About, OW says the following:

They share their habitat with the closely related Laelia harpophylla, and both species are often found on the same tree with intertwined rhizomes and roots.

It means, if the harpo can bloom, then the kautski will also (I think this makes sense, at least about temps and light). The difference of the blooming season between them is one month (harpo's season starts mainly on Feb and kautski arounf March).

Here's a photo of the kautski preparing the blooming season:

magnificent! I love how the orange blends in with the white and yet still provides a contrast.

Thank you!
This is really rewarding...When I got it, I've read that it was difficult to grow so I was somewhat affraid.
In fact it is surprisingly easy under my conditions.

And remember...one month ago I bought another one, same specie but a different cultivar. Maybe too late for it to bloom but who knows?

A "difficult" orchid is one that one wants conditions that are difficult to achieve.

An "easy orchid" is one that grows under the conditions that one has without a lot of work and expense... This one looks perfect for what you have.

We all have different "easy" and "difficult" ones. You are doing VERY well!
