Now here it's time for the cold and dry season, lows near freezing (or even bellow) and clear skies with lots of sun. Ideal for anceps.

Yes! Mine are blooming like crazy. Mostly L. anceps, there's a L. Finkeniana (anceps x albida) in there too. Took this one just now.

Good link, ES.
Didn't knew about it. Thank you.
It seems from the methabolism that the best option is to water it by the end of the day.

I would try to find out exactly where in Minas Gerais and Espíritu Santu it comes from, then try to find out what microclimate it inhabits. Such a small plant that is an epiphyte rather than a lithophyte is probably in mostly shade most of the year - unless it grows on deciduous trees.

Good guess... from the Baker sheet in Orchidwiz:
Laelia harpophylla grows on trees in somewhat shady and moist forests at 1650–2950 ft. (500–900 m)

Also according to Baker, the temperature range in that location is 35 deg C (94 deg F) to 2 deg C (35 deg F) So temperature doesn't seem to be the issue that I had with it...Should be pretty adaptable

Yes, this one doesn't need so much light as a Catt would. I can meet all the parameters except HR (I have the same issue with my tenebrosa). Maybe watering every 4 to 5 days (or less as this is a small pot), by the end of the day and misting regularly might be enough.
Roberta, do you know how was your HR?

Outside, HR is whatever nature provides... this summer was really humid,( by southern California standards anyway like 50-60% during the day) but in the past that wasn't the case, more normal summer humidity is more like 40% in the middle of the day (higher at night of course) My small GH where I also tried to grow it has pretty much ambient humidity, somewhat lower on cool evenings because of the heater. When I try again, probably will go into my larger GH where it is more like 80%, This week (and much of the fall) it's been more like 20% during the day, maybe getting up to 50% at night. (Related to the fires? Of course. No rain, high wind, low humidity...)

Your HR is much higher than mine under normal conditions.
