Default Cattleya mossiae semi-alba in bloom

Awesome species. Easy as can be to grow and bloom, not the least bit finicky, highly temperature tolerant, and dependably produces huge and very fragrant flowers every spring. What's not to like about Cattleya mossiae?

What a beauty!
I wish I still had the space for one. Thank you for sharing yours (too bad the fragrance cannot also be shared for the full effect!)

Thank you, everyone, for your comments.

Steve, I promise that I did not manipulate the dorsal sepal. It stands up on all of the blooms all on its own. The flowers are well-shaped (in my opinion) for mossiae, but the large petals do fall forward somewhat (without actually having any of the drooping quality that many judges, unfortunately, count as a flaw in this species).

I have no doubt! Who is the breeder on this one?

It came from Hausermann (whether or not they bred it, I'm not sure).

That looks great! I'm not-so-patiently waiting for my mossiae to bloom. Its buds are swelling by the day...
