Don't normally grow cattleya's but this was the OG orchid that started my addiction. My dad tied this to a oak tree in our back yard when we built our house.... 14 years later it has engulfed one side of the tree and gets bigger each year! It normally blooms 2-3 times a year, this is this first bloom of the year and it's not doing bad with 18 open buds... so far 😁😁

Wow! Do you have to water and fertilize that beauty or does it grow on its own?

Jealous! Wow that is gorgeous and so healthy looking. What a treasure to have this growing in your yard. Your Dad must be pretty pleased!
