Default Cattleya warsewiczii in spike

Hello guys,

I really need some input from you. I have Cattleya warsewiczii 'Caliman' for short time and I can see starting spike in green sheath. I know many people experience bud blast and I really wish those flowers ;-)))

She is in my open balcony (south) shaded with white curtain but she receives sun from above. We have almost summer temperature going up to 30 degrees with daytime humidity around 40% and higher at night with good drop in temperature. I have brezze and wind almost all the time.

Is there anything more I can do for her? Move her from direct sun, keep her at direct sun...is there any tips to have this gorgeous blooms ;-)

Thank you!

Don't touch it!! I see so many people mess up their flowers because they moved it "to a better spot" as the spike formed. Leave it where it is and see what happens.

I agree. Leave it. 30C is not very hot. The plant experiences hotter temperatures in habitat, along with good air flow so it doesn't overheat.

Be sure it doesn't dry out completely, also.

estacion seca thank you very much. I usually don't touch plants to much so this won't be a problem.

So keep them light moist? Good point as I am always confused about Cattleyas even I thing when temperature is high they won't mind if they are watered when they aproach to dryness.
Also in winter they won't probably mind if they are bone dry for few days ;-)

As warscewiczii flower and sends new roots I guess fertilizer should be added at regular base.

I will keep you up date and of course if I will have flowers I will share pictures ;-)
