First time blooming for us. Had it about one year now. Love these flowers. Looks like two different flowers glued together.

Beautiful flowers! I agree, they do look like two different flowers glued together. The color is gorgeous, congratulations.

I just bought this plant. Three blossoms on 1 lead. The lip a bit curled. Have you ever had it awarded? Culture please.

Thank you, Lee

Congratulations Lee, on the acquisition of this wonderfully colored cattleya. We grow it in typical cattleya fashion, high light (shadow when hand placed over it), water when dry (let it dry out between watering), potted in chunky bark, nothing else, repot every few years, good air movement, fertilize weakly weekly in summer and when ever you want in winter and temps, 90f/70f in summer and 75f/55f winter. Temps do get into the 100s in summer but never go below 55f in the winter. Blooms this time of the year as ours is blooming now (photo 1) this year it has limey green sepals. In the past it has had darker olive green sepals (photo 2). Don’t know what causes the change in color from year to year. If it is temperature, fertilizer, amount of light, don’t know. But it does keep things interesting. Hope this helps and good luck with it. Post some photos when it blooms.
