Default Slc Red Jewel

Bought this from Santa Barbara orchid estate. I almost killed it. It flowered again last April after a 2 year hiatus. It grew all summer after I added some sphagnum into the pebble based mix. it seems to like it, now it is giving me three petite colorful blooms.

Enjoy
Andrew

Great looking flowers Just looked at the parentage; as it appears, almost 63% Soph. coccinea in this; spot on with the moss; coccinea in particular likes to be kept moist, but not wet. How large is the plant height-wise? Looks like it fits comfortably in the mini-Catt category..?
Thanks for sharing!

A mini-Catt for sure
The Whole plant with pot is about 7 inches tall. It is in a 4 inch pot.
Thanks for the research

Mr. Flexdc,

It looks like two years was worth the wait. Wonderful results.

I see where you are in a zone 10 which is great for a species which loves the high light. How do you think a plant like this would do in a zone 6?

Respectfully,

T.H.
