Very cute but those LEDs make it impossible to see the beautiful color that amaliae has.

Mine is in bud right and I couldn't be happier. Good job w/your little one!

There really isn't much color to see! Other than a small area of yellow and the purple veining on the lip, the bloom is pearly white. There are very tiny traces of a pink tinge at a few spots. Perhaps they'll become more noticeable as the bloom ages. Hopefully the fragrance will too. There was a barely noticeable trace of a sort of sweet vanilla fragrance.

Edit: A close inspection shows the areas that were tinged pink late yesterday when the flower first opened have darkened to a purple and seem larger. If the sun comes out sometime this month I'll get a pic in natural sunlight!

Even though it's pale...I think the coloration is beautiful. If my memory serves me, the lip will develop the faintest of lavender color on the edges of the lip and it's a beautiful contrast w/the yellow patch and the darker veining.

As for the fragrance...I think it takes a couple of days for the fragrance to really kick in. I know my walkerianas always take a couple/few days. I think I remember the nobiliors doing the same. I'll know soon enough.

I will wait to see the true color before I remark on that but the shape is quiet nice.

Ohhhhh....I remember seeing this one for sale! I'd also love to see pics in sunlight!!!

I'm glad you still got one good bud, despite shipping stress.
