That's the beauty of the warnerii vs labiata, which it has been confused with for over a century. Warneri are smaller plants and flower in summer while labiata are larger and flower in fall. Warneri also grow through winter and flower with no rest, rooting during or after flowering. Labiata will grow through summer and root, then rest before flowering.

So... With much time on my hands I decided to try to capture the 'blue' coerulean tones of this flower and photographed it against a white background in the later part of the day, in the shade. The iPhone has a hard time capturing the colour under incandescent. Here are the results. I think the 'blue' tones came out quite well to contrast the white part of the lip and the white background.

My same sentiments! Can't wait when it gets bigger in a couple of years to see it's potential ☺️

Each picture you post is better than the one before. What can I say? Awsome. I have a semi alba that I hope to see blooming before the end of the summer.

Thanks Orquiadicto. I wish you luck for your warneri semi alba to bloom! I have another coerulea seedling with a sheath that I hope to bloom too. It is the sibling of this one.
