Default Bright Red Cattleya

This cattleya mericlone is a cross between Potinara Hisako Akatsuka and Cattleya Jungle Queen. It carries a varietal name 'Waiakea'. I purchased this plant a few years ago from Hawaii Hybrids on the Big Island of Hawaii. The bright red flowers are medium sized (3-3/4 inches horizontal spread) on a compact plant. The plant is growing in a 5 inch plastic pot with bark as the media.

Lovely ... a superb flower and I do like the way the side lobes are slightly flaired.
Thank you for sharing.

Great color. Thanks for including a pic of the entire plant. Interesting point about the lateral lobes. I wouldn't have noticed.
