Default Buds and no sheath

Has anyone had a Cat. Produce buds and no sheath? I have two and they may be divisions of the same plant as I haven't checkered yet.

This can happen. I usually happens when certain species are in the parentage (or the species itself).
On rare occasions it will happen on Catt's that normally don't do it. A freak occurance.
Do you have the name of the plant??

Yes. I have some hybrids that bloom both with and without sheaths.

Yes it is BLC Momilani Rainbow "THE GYPSY". I noticed on my tag that it bloomed last December so that I divided it in January. Looks like it is staying on schedule.

I also checked the tag on the second no-sheath plant it is LC. LORY ANN "PARADISE" DARK SPLASH

Hi Dub -
I had to repot my Momilani Rainbow in June as it arrived
with the pot broken and it has never skipped a beat! As of now there are buds pushing out of the sheaths. However as much as I wish I could take credit for the flowers I can't! I do have two other cats though that have had sheaths for months and no buds yet. From what I read on here though there's always hope!
Don't give up!
Barb

The Momilani I know & have heard of it flowering without sheaths, not common but not unusual. Don't know the other sorry.
