2 Catts ... Male
Default 2 Catts ...

Almost a year ago, we bought and moved in to our new place.
This is the first orchid I bought at a farmers market to bring home to mount in the yard, a large flowered NoID Catt.
I mounted it on a live tree fern.
It has re-bloomed for the first time.
It is fragrant:

Some time later, I picked this NoID Catt up and mounted it on another tree in the yard.
It has also re-bloomed for the first time.
But, there is a problem:

The one I bought and mounted had complete flowers on it, sepals, petals and a lip.
As you can see this blossom is missing its petals.
Plus, it started with 2 buds.
One aborted.
I'll have to see how it does the next time it blooms.
Any thought as to what is wrong for [with?] this plant?

The first one is beautiful!

The 2nd one...IME, they can do strange things once in awhile. I wouldn't worry about it unless it does it again.

Love the first one.

If the other one bloomed normally when you bought it, it is likely just a freak occurrence

Oh beautiful, the first one looks like it's pretty big...yes, no? Good job!

Sorry about the second one, sorry can't help you out with any advice but hopefully it's just an accident on the plants part!

They are pretty big, about 5" from the tip of the dorsal sepal to the edge of the lip.

Beautiful! I think there's a good chance that the first one is Rlc. Memoria Anna Balmores.
