Default Brassavola nodosa 'Panama'

This is different from the usual nodosa as the lip is much larger.

Blooming again and there are two other spikes on the same plant waiting to bloom. Sorry for the crowded pix. That's a den bracteosum behind it

Thanks all. For size context, about three inches. . Hopefully the rest bloom together and I can post another photo later in the week.

they smell good too. .

some of the named nodosa if not all of them are very large in comparison to a run of the mill plant. that's why it was named after it was awarded. it didn't have to be but it leads to a plants prominence and history. Cultivated then divided by propagation and or cloning an awarded plant makes money for the owner/grower(s). Which keeps us supplied with the latest and greatest plants. 'mas mejor' is another large nodosa. There are quite a few large flowered named nodosa. We should all endeavor to own one of each... but yours is very nice large flowered plant
