Leptotes bicolor
This may be in the wrong section, so if there's an administrator who wants to move it to a more appropriate area, I'm perfectly fine with that.
Leptotes bicolor is a great little plant with long-lasting blooms. When it's not in flower it reminds me of one of the thick-leaved brassavolas. Easy to grow and bloom.

I have one with 5 blooms currently and 3 more leaves that are spiking. How do you keep your leaves from spotting? Many of my older leaves have black spots all over them. Some were there when I bought it, others have appeared as the leaves mature.

Can you post a pic that shows the spotting? I have several L. bicolors, and the one kept under the highest light level has tiny dark reddish purple spots on the leaves which I think is basically a suntan. I didn't realize this species may be prone to leaf spotting. I keep it in bright light (it grows alongside the cattleyas), but there's constant air movement from an overhead ceiling fan that's on 24/7. So far I've not had any problems with spots. Sorry, I know this isn't much help. |

No, thank you! I will try moving mine to a slightly different location. Air flow isn't the best where he is at the moment. |
