My new Cattleya
Default My new Cattleya

I just bought this from a vendor, in bud. I was thrilled when it finally opened. It is a first bloom and I think it is absolutely what I have always wanted in a cattleya. Not everyone's taste, certainly, but I like it.

Well I'm one of those that normally stay clear of pink and purple catts, but I do like the soft hues of this one. The colours, not the shape, reminds me of Iwanagara Apple Blossom and that one is actually on my wish list.

Enjoy the flowers!

I find its soft, delicate coloring to be quite charming.

Sorry, is there something about pink and purple catts or it's just a personal preference on bloom colours?

It's just a personal preference.

Those personal preferences vary a bit according to type of orchid, but when it comes to the cattleya alliance I'm always choosing red and yellow and anything in between that goes towards orange, peach and warm colours.
