I was surprised by the size of this flower! This bloom is bigger than it had previously. The other bud on this spike whithered early on, so that may have contributed to the surviving bud getting large, as well as the plant becoming more mature, I imagine. This growth that is blooming is also bigger than any previous growth.
It could be true. or you got a super clone!
Mine has 6 pbs and this is its first time flowering.
Two older pbs are of the same size as the currently flowering pb.

Maybe mine will also make bigger flowers as it gets older, if I could get it to bloom again that is.

Hehe ... we'll have to wait and see how big any future blooms are (both of ours), to tell

The two pbulbs this grew last year, in-between the previous blooming and this one, were not any (or much) bigger than the biggest previous one. This had little good roots last year. But now this recent growth got bigger than any previous. Your's may do the same. I don't think you will have trouble re-blooming it. Mine grows on a windowsill - a bit of direct sun mid-afternoon.

Thanks Betty It was lightly fragrant (very lightly - the bloom dropped rather quickly; due to heat I suspect) - I remembered it as having a stronger fragrance in the past - not super strong, but enough that you didn't have to put your nose right into it to catch it - somewhat a sweet, rose-like fragrance

I love the spotted hybrids although my partner hates them, there are some amazing crosses out there, especially amongst Brazilian growers.

How did I miss this one!!!??? Very nice Sonya. Wish I knew why they abort a flower. Just happened on a LC Mari's Song I have flowered. Just turned pink mottled and dropped off. Hmmm. Your Pointer looks awesome. Love those spots. Have you looked at Sunset Valley Orchids online offerings lately? He has really started to breed spotted and splash petaled orchids that are small. Check it out.

Thanks

Sounds like mine did the same as your Mari's Song - I suspected the especially hot weather- it actually held the bloom during the hot spell, but it just turned color, and dropped off shortly afterwards

I haven't looked at SVO ... could be dangerous hehe
