I believe this is in the Cattleya alliance ...

I thought I would post this, as it isn't one you see every day ...

I got this last weekend, in bud, at the San Jose Orchid Exposition from Gold Country Orchids. Honestly - I told myself I was done buying, had already busted my small budget, but thought I would have another look at their booth since it was less crowded than earlier ... Saw this cutie, and that was that ...

Nice cinnamon fragrance in the morning - but I do need to put my nose right up to it to get the fragrance.

I was told this does not want to really dry out (no pbulbs!), grow in lower light, cool to hot growing. (One of the traits I really look for is temperature tolerance! Small size is also a plus!)

Photos aren't the greatest - blooms are quite small!

Thanks for looking!

Not familiar with that one. Cute it is! Small size, fragrant, temp tolerant. That's a winning combo in my book. Nice find!

I was also not familiar with this one. Yes, the winning combo was my rationalization to get it

That's a a lovely orchid. The species is seldom grown or sold in Taiwan. But one friend has this one and his plant does well when mounted on the slab.
