Here's the Blc. x encyclia hybrid I picked up over the weekend from a local dealer. It's pretty small, but a very healthy plant.

As far as I can tell it should be treated like any other cattleya. It's a hybrid so it's more resistant to weather changes. My blooms lasted for around a month (although it's hard to know how long they were really open, as the flowers were open when I bought it).
