Default Sophronitis grandiflora

Synonymous with S. coccinea.

Blomming for me now after been out on my balkony over summer. Colour is almost correct and the gnistering vibrant red is one of my favorit

Hi; was the photo taken soon after the flower opened?
If so ,the flower will get wider in a few days,in which case it will be worth photographing again.

Thanks!
It is mounted on cork that I then mounted on Epiweb. The roots just shoots into the Epiweb
The flower is 5.1 cm wide and 4.7 cm high.
I think it has opend almost full. It is 12 days between the posted picture above and the one below!

Very nice! I hope to bloom my Sophronitis some day.
Please define gnistering. I can not find it in any dictionary. Is it a non english word? My curiousity is killing me
