Hi, me again. This time I want to show you this lovely Laelia autumnalis var atrorubens, unfortunately the flower last just a litlle more than a week.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. The plant can grow big, the seudobulbs are club sape and about 5" long and very thick, the flowers are 4.5" and the flower stems can grow to 1 m long (40 in?). I have it mounted in a pice of mexican red oak and during the growing period has to be very humid (60-70%) until the flowering season which is the Fall when you have to reduce the humidity and stop the fertilizing.

Juan,
It's a beauty, and one of my favorites. I'll try to attach a picture of mine that bloomed last February (let's see if it works).
I don't know what part of Mexico you are in, but is it possible to grow outdoors there? We sometimes go down to Alamos (far southern part of Sonora, almost at Sinloa border) and there are some terriffic large plants, mostly Catts and Laleias, "naturalized" on trees in some of the courtyards and around town.
