That's the best I can get out of the broken brittle tag. Can't find a pic on the webs so not sure its even a name.

Oh well, she's still a looker...

Opened up pale green, and whitened as the flower matured. Throat still retains green, almost chartreuse to yellow.

And the next AOS judging is weeks away... again, oh well.

The photos of Old Whitey 'Mount Empress' AM/AOS in OrchidWiz shows a deep yellow throat, but that doesn't mean much. Yours could yellow with age, or it could be a different cultivar.

Old Whitey is the parent of 68 hybrids though, so unless your old tag gives you a pretty clear idea, I wouldn't bet the farm on the ID.

I think you are right Ray. I don't know what I was doing wrong, maybe it was late last night I was trying to find pics of it, but now I found a bunch. Not too sure this one is correct.

Its an old collection, and one of the plants I hadn't repotted. The owner/boss, handed it to me and said.. "can you make out this tag?" of which was in 4 pieces, and not complete.

Well, I hadn't been to the greenhouse in 2 days, and the flower opened the day prior to the pic, and now the greens are turning yellow.

Though I still have my doubts its correct, looking at pics online, it sure looks like it.

The Ft Laud Orchid Society meeting is this coming monday. Maybe someone there can shed some light on this...
