Default C. Caribbean 'Orange Bowl' HCC/AOS

you want good blooms, buy good plants. its the best start I can think of.

its called orange bowl for several reasons..the color and the sweet citrus smell.

Oh wow, I love it!!! I think I'm liking it for the same reasons, it's very summery and cheerful, quite a contrast to the rainy, gray and chilly weather outside right now....

thanks cammie its such a warm glow..the color of this flower was hard for me to get a good picture of. I don't know what it is. I know its a cheap camera. I figured if I learned to take decent picture with cheap camera, I can take better pictures with good camera some day.
I think we all tired of the gray drizzly days. Lots of bright colored orchids everywhere around town.

thanks you!!!

If the blooms look that great with a not so good camera, they must be outstanding to see in person! The mix of orange/peach, pink, yellow makes me think back to childhood vacations in Hawaii or the bahamas.

In a way I don't mind the shitty weather, it means that so far we're on track for a normal spring. Last year we had spring in march, a heat wave in April thrrough June, then cold RAIN all summer!

Beautiful colors! The large amount of yellow on the lip really makes it stand out.

that peach color is very hard to get a good picture of. I am really surprised it showed up as well as it did.

A Fiesta of Flower..

The colors are deep, and yes tucker that yellow just makes the whole flower pop

thanks you all

This is what the Judges had to say about it when it received it's HCC/AOS in 1999:

Ninety-seven flowers held above foliage on 14 inflorescences evenly distributed around a plant with compact growth habit with 30 pseudobulbs filling an 8-inch plastic pot with charcoal media; flowers well displayed on each inflorescence; sepals and petals delicate apricot pink, lighter along midribs, mellowing to yellower tone; lip clear yellow throat, distally hot pink; substance average; texture slightly sparkling;
