I hope I'm not breaking forum rules but I can't get my picture into the cute little thumbnail mode used on the forum. My thumbnail function on Picture Trail comes through as gibberish but this one gives me a large pic. If inappropriate, feel free to delete.

The bloom size is fairly small - 3" max probably. I can measure when I open the g/h.

I got this plant in June from a member of my orchid club. The first three spikes were achieved by her growing under HID lights. The spikes and pbulbs all leaned. Since I've had it, the pbulbs and spikes are now growing straight up and will be taller than previous growths. It now grows in a g/h with 50% shading, all green with no reddish coloration on the plant.

If we ever get out of blizzard type conditions, I can have my husband take a current picture but he can't take pics in the g/h. His camera lens fogs up and that is a no no and the plant has to be moved.

Brooke

The oldest blooms on the AB measured between 3 1/2 and 4". Hope this helps.

Brooke,

The flowers are gorgeous…!!! I’m not sure what color of flowers to expect on mine. The picture on the baggy showed colors like yours but then the ID tag said it was a yellow variety?

I wanted to take pictures of mine, unfortunately the first bloom seem to closed itself up after some rain, jeez I wonder why. The other bloom is still opening, hopefully I can get a picture by tomorrow.

From what you say I would not move it. It may be able to take even more light without any problems as long as the leaves are not getting warm and they are not burning.

Still haven't got the time to take photographs, but sadly I gotta say my AB isn't that stunning at all, flowers just refuse to open fully and there's no scent -_-

My IAB is in s/h as well and it seems to be loving it! I have two sheath's, I noticed them about a month ago and they haven't seemed to have grown any in size.....do they take a while to bloom? How fast is bloom time usually from when the sheath is noticeable? I am starting to think they are duds!

Neverend,

Is it possible that this might be the variety you have? If it is I might have the same one.

Yep, I think that's the variety I have, sadly I can't get the flower to bloom fully...

Most open flower I have at the moment, sadly no fragrance I gotta say I'm rather disappointed.
