Default Iwanagara Apple Blossom

A common one, but wonderful. Two spikes in bloom with a third coming along. I got this one as a tiny back bulb division, with 2 shriveled and burned pseudobulbs. Even my mom who doesn't want anything to do with the orchids seems to enjoy this one

That's a lovely color combination and the flowers look perfect. How long did it take you to go from "2 shriveled and burned pseudobulbs" to this beautiful plant? Great job calvin!

It is a gorgeous photo and plant! It looks so healthy and happy. I too love the colour combo. Have loved it for years and finally got a small 3 bulb plant from H & R last fall. No sign of blooms but it seems healthy. Great rescue and growing Calvin- to turn two shrivelled bulbs into that!

Great job calvin. I wish my spikes hadn't rotted or whatever happened to them. Yours is beautiful! How's the fragrance?

Absolutely stunning and one of my favorites.

Unfortunately mine has just stalled and is doing nothing.

Wow thanks for all the comments guys! I got this one about 5 years ago, and it's made one new bulb each year until this last year, when it made 2. It can go completely bone dry between waterings in the winter, and I suspect cool/bright/dry initiates spike development...One of the spikes is actually coming off of a bulb from last year, when I didn't give it a good winter drying, so I suspect there's some trigger involved. The sheaths can sit there for months doing nothing, and then suddenly pop open in spring. The fragrance is wonderful - similar to hyacinths
