Default L. purpurata var carnea 'R'

Its a very large plant in a 12" bulb pan. Had 30 flowers (cut some and took to work) Fragrance is sweet with anise like tones.

Wow, congrats! A very happy purpurata! Laelia (now 'Hadrolaelia', 'Sophronitis' or 'Brasilaelia', you choose!) purpurata are usually very large plants, specially the "type" ones! I have a "carnea" but not so big, your plant shows a very good appearance!

Very nice, looks like the petals are very flat - very good.

Wow! Thats an impressive display! And it smells like anise to top it all off! I think thats just heaven I've always loved the smell. Brings my grandmothers cookies to mind. What a treasure!
