Beautiful blooms, Ted. Does this one share a similar fragrance to C. lueddemanniana? Are you growing it warm (like C. lueddemanniana), or does it tolerate intermediate-to-cool temps?

Steve

Thanks all for the nice comments.

Hi Steve! This one seems to do well with temperatures between 37° and 110°F. The first year I grew it cooler in winter. Not sure what it was exposed to while I was in Qatar for the 1.5 years I was away. But it has bloomed on every growth that it has produced since it has been here. This winter I am keeping it above 50°F to see what happens. I am hoping to get my C. lueddemanniana 'Arthur Chadwick' to finally bloom that is growing near it. The 'Arthur Chadwick' has been producing sheaths on most of the growths for the past couple of years just no blooms as of yet.

About the fragrance, I have no idea what lueddemanniana smells like yet. I do hope to find out this spring if I can coerce the 'Arthur Chadwick' into blooming. But, the fragrance of 'Snow Queen' does smell very similar to C. mossiae if that helps.
