Default Some Encyclia species

Here are some Encyclia species blooming out now in my shade house.

Encyclia gonzalezii:

Encyclia pauciflora, a very small and compact species with large flowers compared to the plant's size:

Encyclia fowliei, one of the most beautiful IMO:

Encyclia mapuerae, maybe better known as Encyclia tarumana, its former name.

Encyclia fowliei is one of my favorites too. I just can't get enough of Encyclias! I wish more growers carried some of the htf species.

Thanks for the pics.

Shann~

I envy your collection and your growing conditions to.

Indeed it can be hard to collect the nicest of encyclias although I must say with some effort I managed to get most of the ones I consider the most beatifull together, fowliei is indeed one of them. I'm still missing some of the caribean ones the hardest to get in Europe.

Yes, with orchids one cannot have everything... it will always be missing something in our collections!

Problem is indeed that you keep raising the bar and especially with the Cattleya's you can just keep raising the bar with the many variations.
