Oh, I love the smell of Hyacinths!!!

I'm gonna start looking for one of those. If I may ask...where did you get it?

I got it from H&R nursuries bare-root a few seasons ago...I usually kill all the bare root plants I get from them, so this was a nice surprise!

Calvin, I know you posted about this a while ago, but I'd like to know whether you can share culture tips with me (I just bought one)

How much light do you give it? Fertilizer? Do you think it can be potted? Thanks.

Good buy :) I'm not sure if it would do well potted, as the flower spikes are somewhat pendant, although I suppose they could be staked. If you have the conditions though, I think mounted would be the best. If potted, perhaps course chunks of lava rock? Not sure how humid your conditions are.

I bake mine really close to the lights. I could probably do with a bit less though. 5" below the T5s right now. I fertilize weakly every 3 weeks or so, but only when root tips are active (easier to see on a mount). When roots are not growing, I don't water as much - just a bit of spraying. It is grown warm.

Hope that helps!

I really like it, looks like it needs enough hanging space though.

Thanks! The vendor's picture shows he grows his potted in rock.

Jay's webpage indicates it's xerophytic---so it doesn't like to be watered/fed much?
