Default Cattleya porphyroglossa

This is a nice bifoliate species that deserved to be more present in our collections. The narrow lip is covered with papillae and the flowers are strongly fragrant. The interesting is that the fragrance changes from almost unpleasant (to my nose!) to very good around the noon!
The third photo shows two different clones together.

Nice one Mauro, I have a pretty small Catt collection (compared to yours anyway!!) but I do have this species. Hopefully she will look even half as good as yours when she does bloom.

Very cool. Interesting to see the difference in the side lobes. On one they seem to remain open while on the other they look connected.

Very nice. I like the bifoliate Cattleyas and this one is not common in exibitions and by suppliers here in Europe.

That is a nice orange color. You don't really see that color unless its an aurantiaca cross.

Thank you, Mauro!! Your contributions to this forum are very educational. I truly appreciate all the lovely pictures you post of so many species, both well-known and not!
