Default Just wondering: Coloring in Encyclia garciana (or anachelium garcianum nowadays)

My plant just dropped a couple of flowers that were beautifully pink (there's a photo in my album), now the buds on a second bulb opened and to my surprise, the first flower is nearly completely white with just a couple of tiny pink dots!
That got me to wondering why that might be, does it have anything to do with light/feeding or is the plant tired out from having to bloom for so long?
I have no idea but are curious about why the coloration can be so different. Does anyone want to share his or her ideas with me?

(it should be anacheilium in the title, not anachelium )
