Look more closer, is in between both species. Lip have much more "waves" at the edge of the lip, the lip is less squared than in real purpuratas (specially at the side lobes), lip is less "trumpet-like", petals and sepals are also in between, and the color is not real ardosia, not real blue, but somethingin between. I cant talk about the smell because is to much subjective, but is less "lemon-scented" than purpuratas.
The problem Steve is that in USA but also on Japan and taiwan, are many, but many laeliocattleyas sold as pure laelias, so people have the tendency not to picture and understand well Cattleya influence on hybrids with purpurata and tenebrosa just because they are accustomed to se "Lc" as part of the "L" phenotype possibilities.
