This sounded like a dynamite cross, but now I'm not so sure. This is the first blooming, and, the plant looked a bit dessicated when it arrived, and the buds were half open, but I'm not sure if that explains the small size and poor shape. Hopefully next blooming will show what this cross should be.

I think it will definitely improve. If it was in bud when it was shipped to you, that explains a lot of the misshapenness...its not really that bad tho. Pretty colors!! It might perk up over time, did it just open? If so, give it a few days to come into itself.

Really pretty colours and the shape is not really that bad. I hope it improves for you next time though.

Thanks all. I'm kind of liking it the more I look at it. I guess I was hoping for more floof. We'll see next year.

The flowers may be misshapen, but look at the great color they have! I'm sure the form will improve eventually.

I like and would like to see a later blooming, too, if it ever did bloom again.

This is registered as Cattleya Time-Life.

There are 2 Cattleya's with the name of Irene Finney, the one used in the registered cross is Cattleya Irene Finney ( 1964 )

I like the colors. I think the flower will improve with future bloomings. Don't give up on it.
