Default Phaiocalanthe Kryptonite 'Blood Bath'

This little (or should I say 'big') guy is quite the reliable bloomer. I got this plant just two years ago with only 3 or 4 pseudobulbs on it. I don't know how many there are now...just A LOT! Last year it had 5 spikes - this year it has 12!!

I highly recommend this orchid to anyone that wants a fast grower and reliable bloomer!

I started to answer this earlier today and my computer froze up on me. I about went into withdrawals from Orchidboard! Anyway, you are scaring me here Ethan! Mine is already huge. It has two spikes, 3 open blooms, and 9 buds. I have re-potted it 3 times since March when I bought it. It is already sending roots down into the humidity tray again. Grows better than weeds do! Now I can see how huge it could get! Holy Kryptonite Batman! Yikes! On the plus side, it is gorgeous!!! And so undemanding.

Thanks for the comments guys! I just love this guy...

Becca - who said I had room??

I actually got two when I got this one - the other one was a lot bigger and is out of control. It had about 15 flower spikes this year and then the aphids came along and destroyed them so I had to cut them all off That plant doesn't do as well, though - the flower spikes are thinner and not as sturdy. The quality isn't as good as the one I posted photos of. I'm actually thinking of giving it to a non-orchid-enthusiast friend - he will appreciate it even though it's not as desirable.

Quiltingwacko - I'm afraid our epidendrums and our kryptonites are going to take over - where will we put our other orchids???
