I'm so excited!
I bought this chid 2+ years ago $10 at a yard sale. It was in sheath but never bloomed. Full of ants and who knows what else. Anyway I cleaned it up new pot the works. I waited and waited ...last year full of sheaths again...no blooms . This year full of sheaths again BUT,,,,,finally a bloom and it looks like more are coming. There was no name on it so I called it Noid 'Big Mama' and look what Mama gave me today

Big Mama is beautiful, Lorraine. 2 years of wating but well worth the wait, seeing how gorgeous this is. I have one almost identical to yours that I paid $30 for a few years ago as a B'day present to myself. Thought I was getting a deal too, the plant was big then, tremendous now. May have been the same grower, who knows? I got mine from a nursery in Delray.
Happy growing to you!

Hi Sandy, Do you have a name for yours? Might be interesting to see how much alike they are.

I don't, Lorraine. I should have mentioned that. Let me look for a pic and I'll post back in a couple of minutes.

Wow! Yours look great. What name do you have for it?? I'll be interested in seeing what the rest of my flowers look like IF they bloom. Then I can really compare them.

Both are very nice, Lorraine's is more floofy and the deep red/fushia color encompasses the entire lip and Sandy yours is a bit more defined in the lip!
NOID or not, those are both lovely, enjoy the blooms
