Default Psychilis macconelliae f. semialba

These are VERY picky little lithophytes or epiphytes from around the Caribbean, and for the most part, fairly rare in both their natural habitat and in cultivation. They like full sun and drying between sparse waterings, and perhaps a massage here and there to encourage blooms. This year, there are 4 spikes blooming now, and 3 or more along the way...

Thanks! This one occurred purely by chance, I've never seen an alba or a semi-alba of this species before. Truthfully, I prefer the 'full-color' version of this species, it's much more attractive.

As for care, it's a difficult one. It needs full sun, light waterings, and a medium/mount that will not allow water to keep the roots wet. It is not a forgiving genus, for the most part. They are closely allied to Encyclia, and which some were once classified under that genus.
