Scented very much of Juicy Fruit gum. It makes you hungry. A very large flower for the size of the plant.

I love that they smell good as well as look great. Great flower!

Do you find it more difficult to bloom this than other Cattleya species? I am asking because I have a healthy C. jenmanii that was big enough to bloom last year, but still has not. I saw to it that the plant received a lot more sunlight this summer. Maybe that will do it.

I am not expert, but I would say it is more difficult than Catts, from my experience, as it really screamed for more lighting and water.

Hmmmm...in my experience it hasn't been any different than any of my others. In fact it is in bud right now. I do however have an advantage with my orchids being grown under HID lights as they never get cloudy/rainy/cool days. All the warmth and bright light helps a lot.
