Wow, you must have a really nice specimen plant. Why put it in S/H when its doing so well the way you have it now? I would not change it. Can you post a photo here, or the link to your post? THanks. Mine only has two pbulbs.

Wow! 18" across - I would say definately divide into many divisions and share with OB members on a first come, first serve basis. Interesting story, thanks for sharing. Just goes to show you how tough orchids can be! Good luck with yours.

Here is a photo .... I think. Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I will keep it intact for a while.

Wow, that big! Keep it the way it is. It's obviously happy. Maybe a bigger pot when its ready.

I can't say enough about this orchid, I just love growing this one
I've got 2 now, divided up the first one, it took nicely to a new mix and flowered very soon after - it didn't fuss at all. I have found that this 'chid will shoot up sheaths even without seeing the actual bulb great bloomer, wonderful grower, nice honey scent.
The more light you give it the faster it will grow and bloom. I would consider this an everbloomer, It's in bloom then not.

I grow mine pretty moist, 1 in sphag the other in a paph mix.
Inside: I grow them under catt lighting.
Outside: they take full sunlight.

I hope you enjoy growing this one as much as I do

Prosthechea cochleata, on a cork mount for 4 years, in full sun most of the day, heavy mist watered 2-3 x daily, fertilized with nutricote 13-13-13/with micros in a 2"x3" organza bag (changed annually). In bloom most of the year.
