Default Broughtonia sanguinea

Most years some creature eats the spikes right before they are getting ready to bloom, thankfully that didn't happen this year!
I was rewarded with 3 beautiful spikes with tons of flowers on each one.

I chose this one especially for the color of the flowers and the relative flatness of the petals.

Beautiful blooms. I love the color. Hopefully that critter moved to another house and you will get to enjoy your hard work every year.
Someone ate away half of my buds on 1 plant so I got to see 3 half eaten blooms. When I find out who it was he better get his swimmies on because he's going in the canal.

Yes, it is Jamaican by way of Claude Hamilton.
The plant itself is on a 4x6 plaque of treefern and is almost covered. the spikes branch out about 18 inches.
You really need to buy one of these plants in bloom, as the color and shape vary so much! and I picked one that had 3 good leads on it, so I've gotten 3 spikes every time.
Also, you never want to cut the spikes off unless/until they turn brown and die because they have been known to branch out again after the first blooming.
