Very cool blushed semi-alba miniature. Sepals are a little reflexed but this is the first bloom. Its a good grower so I cant wait for a little pot teeming with blooms. Seems like a lot of these come out a much darker shade of pink so I'm glad I got a higher contrast flower.

Thanks! Have your plants flowered yet? I feel like this cross was slept on. Including by me-

I would have bought 5+ if past me knew what future me knows now.... I would have a chance to find the rare possibility of a true semi-alba mini.

I've been reading about inheritance of semi-alba. It seems it is a recessive gene that is either on or off in cattleyas. Unfortunately that means that your plant is not closer to being a true semi alba than a fully colored one. It looks very close, but the gene that suppresses that background pigment does not fade in and out. Same with alba. It can be very light but it doesn't mean it's genetically close to true white.

I could be wrong, but either way sorry to be a bummer...

Its is very cute either way!

Mine was doing poorly in the original SVO pot, which happens very rarely for me. I repotted into a 3" clay and it started to throw like 5 growths!

Hope to see your plant flowering soon!
