Default P. Cochleata blooming for 16 months

My Prosthechea Cochleata started blooming last May and has not stopped. It is still blooming on the same spike. 3 other spikes have started blooming, but the initial one that started in May 22 is almost chest high now.

It started the year indoors, then I moved it out for summer, then summer turned brutal so I brought it in, and now I’ve moved it back out. This orchid literally does not care.

Amazing!!

I got one in early June and it started flowering shortly after, it's still flowering now and I see a couple more buds to come. I was pleasantly surprised as I have a purple colored hybrid of this species and it makes far fewer flowers which also individually don't last as long.

Ooh, I really like the purple hybrids. It’s on my wish list, just waiting until I come across a decently priced one.

I couldn't keep these alive until I stood them in shallow dishes of water. Members of this genus seem to use very much more water than most other Cattleya alliance plants.

well done-

i have had close to this success but a heat wave or my neglect always interrupts them and kills the spike

really good job by you maintaining that sweet spot for 16 months!!!
